WESLEY CHAPEL / PASCO COUNTY, FL — Avalon Park Wesley Chapel is opening its doors to OneBlood's Big Red Bus later this month, giving neighbors an easy, close-to-home way to donate and help keep the region's blood supply stocked.
The blood drive runs Saturday, Aug. 29, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Avalon Park Wesley Chapel's Downtown Development Zone, and it's open to all local donors.
What Donors Get
Every donor receives a $20 eGift card, good at retailers including Target, Walmart and Amazon, along with a Big Red Bus T-shirt. Donors also get a free wellness checkup covering blood pressure, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening — a quick health snapshot on top of the donation itself.
How to Take Part
Appointments are encouraged, though not required. Interested donors can reserve a time by visiting oneblood.org/donate-now and entering sponsor code 57393, or by scanning the QR code on Avalon Park's event flyer. Don't forget a valid ID.
Why It Matters for Wesley Chapel
Blood drives like this one are a quiet but essential piece of community infrastructure — donations collected locally go directly toward supplying Tampa Bay area hospitals. For a growing community like Wesley Chapel, a close, convenient donation site means residents don't have to travel far to make an impact.
