ZEPHYRHILLS / PASCO COUNTY, FL — A beloved piece of Pasco County history is getting a second life. The historic Home Theater in downtown Zephyrhills has been purchased by Main Street Zephyrhills and is being refurbished for a new generation — with big plans to transform it into a cultural arts center for all of Pasco County.
The theater has been a landmark in Zephyrhills for decades, drawing generations of residents through its doors. Now, with new ownership and a community-driven vision, it's being brought back to life in a way that could serve the entire region.
What's Planned
"Ultimately, it is a cultural arts center for all of Pasco County and its surrounding areas to utilize," said Linda Starr Kerns, president of Main Street Zephyrhills. "We want to have community theater like Wesley Chapel and their community theater, or a stand-up comedy show. Everything that we can utilize it for is what we want to utilize it for."
How to Support It
The organization is currently in the process of raising money for the project. Community support — donations, sponsorships, and word of mouth — will be key to getting the theater restored and reopened. Residents interested in contributing can reach out through Main Street Zephyrhills.
Why It Matters for Wesley Chapel
Zephyrhills is only about 15 minutes from Wesley Chapel, and a fully restored performing arts venue in the area gives the entire north Pasco community access to live theater, film screenings, comedy shows, and cultural events without driving into Tampa.
