Alaska Airlines to Launch Tampa's First Daily Nonstop Flights to Portland, Oregon This Fall

TAMPA, FL — Tampa International Airport is getting its first-ever daily nonstop connection to the Pacific Northwest. Alaska Airlines announced it will begin daily seasonal service between Tampa and Portland, Oregon, starting November 20, 2026.
What's New
The route isn't entirely new — Alaska Airlines first brought Tampa-Portland service to TPA in 2021, but it had only operated once a week. This marks the first time the two cities will be connected daily. The seasonal schedule runs through March 28, 2027, aligning with peak winter travel demand.
The Details
The cross-country route covers roughly 6 hours and 15 minutes outbound, with a shorter 5 hour and 13 minute return trip. Fares start as low as $169–$369 depending on booking timing, according to Alaska Airlines.
Why It's Happening
"Portland is one of our largest air travel markets on the West Coast, and the introduction of our first-ever daily nonstop flights will appeal to business and leisure travelers alike," said TPA Director of Air Service Development Alex Heiter.
The move is part of a broader Alaska Airlines expansion out of Portland International Airport, which also includes a new daily route to Wenatchee, Washington, starting Oct. 3, and a newly opened $18 million Alaska Airlines lounge at PDX.

While the route is expected to appeal primarily to Oregonians seeking winter sun, it also gives Tampa Bay residents an easy new option to explore Portland and the many national parks surrounding it.
