Early Voting Opens This Saturday in Wesley Chapel — Three Local Sites, 11 Candidates, Three School Board Seats

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — The August 18 Primary Election is almost here — and early voting opens this Saturday, August 8, giving Wesley Chapel residents two full weeks to cast their ballots without waiting for Election Day.

Early voting runs from Saturday, August 8 through Saturday, August 15, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Wesley Chapel voters have three convenient local sites to choose from — no need to travel across the county.

• AdventHealth Center Ice — 5751 Trouble Creek Rd, Wesley Chapel

• New River Library — 34043 State Road 54, Wesley Chapel

• Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus — 3021 Sports Coast Way, Wesley Chapel

All three sites are open daily during the early voting period. You can vote at any of these locations regardless of which precinct you're assigned to on Election Day.

What's on the Ballot

The August 18 primary includes 11 candidates competing for three Pasco County School Board seats — Districts 1, 3, and 5. These are nonpartisan races, meaning every registered Pasco County voter can participate regardless of party affiliation.

Key races affecting Wesley Chapel voters include District 1, where health care executive Al Hernandez is stepping down after four years, opening up a seat that covers parts of Wesley Chapel and Land O' Lakes. Multiple candidates are competing to replace him, including veterans, educators, and community leaders.

A candidate must receive more than 50% of the vote to win outright. The two top vote-getters advance to the November election for a runoff if no one clears that threshold.

Registered Republicans in Wesley Chapel can also vote in the Pasco County Commission District 4 race, where incumbent Lisa Yeager faces challenger Jonathan Deckard. The Commission District 2 race — which includes most of Wesley Chapel — between incumbent Seth Weightman and Democrat Stephanie Vazquez is not contested in the primary and goes directly to the November General Election.
