Families in Wesley Chapel have a free, hands-on community event to look forward to this Saturday. The Firehouse Subs location on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard is participating in the national Touch the Truck event on May 2nd from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., giving children and families an up-close look at real fire trucks and a chance to meet local firefighters in person.

What Is Touch the Truck?

Touch the Truck is a recurring community initiative hosted by Firehouse Subs locations across North America. The event invites families to come to the restaurant parking lot and interact directly with fire trucks and emergency vehicles. Kids can climb aboard the trucks, examine the equipment firefighters rely on, and speak with the first responders who operate them.

The event is designed to be both fun and educational, giving younger attendees a real-world introduction to the work of local fire departments in an approachable, low-pressure setting.

Tied to International Firefighters Day

This round of Touch the Truck events is timed to coincide with International Firefighters Day, observed annually on May 4th. The occasion honors the dedication and service of firefighters worldwide, and the Firehouse Subs events serve as a community-level recognition of that commitment ahead of the date.
