Marjorie's Hope Celebrity Waiter Event Raises Funds for Pasco County Students

Marjorie's Hope, a Pasco County nonprofit dedicated to student support, hosted its annual Celebrity Waiter fundraiser earlier this month in New Port Richey, Florida — bringing together local leaders and community members to raise money and awareness for students in need across the county.

Community Leaders Step Up — Literally

The fundraiser flipped the script on traditional philanthropy: instead of writing checks from a distance, participants including attorneys, business owners, and public figures put on aprons and served guests throughout the event. Attorney Chris Dyer of LMD Injury Lawyers was among those who showed up to support the cause in a hands-on way.

The lighthearted format drew strong turnout and helped shine a spotlight on the wide range of programs Marjorie's Hope runs year-round for Pasco County students.

Over 2,000 Students Clothed Since January

Since the start of 2026, Marjorie's Hope has distributed more than 2,000 clothing items to students who need them most. The organization has also provided nearly 400 pieces of professional attire — dress clothes, interview-ready outfits, and career-appropriate wear — to help young people put their best foot forward as they enter the workforce.

These numbers represent a significant community investment, and organizers say demand for clothing assistance continues to grow alongside Pasco County's expanding student population.

The Cinderella & Prince Charming Project

One of Marjorie's Hope's most beloved programs is the Cinderella & Prince Charming Project, which helps Pasco County high school students attend prom by providing formal attire at no cost. To date, more than 2,000 students have been dressed for their prom night through this initiative — a milestone that reflects both the scale of need and the generosity of the community behind the program.

Scholarships Awarded to Local Students

Beyond clothing, Marjorie's Hope has awarded $2,000 in scholarships to Pasco County students in 2026. While modest in dollar amount, the scholarships carry significant symbolic weight — a direct signal to local youth that their community believes in their potential.

How You Can Support Marjorie's Hope

Events like the Celebrity Waiter fundraiser are essential to keeping these programs running and expanding. Community members interested in volunteering, donating, or learning more about Marjorie's Hope are encouraged to follow the organization's updates and look for future fundraising opportunities in the Pasco County area.

With strong local support and measurable results, Marjorie's Hope continues to be one of Pasco County's most impactful student-focused nonprofits.
