NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Retired police K9s in Pasco County are getting a second chance at comfort in their golden years, thanks to a local partnership offering free, non-invasive therapy to ease the aches that come with a lifetime of service.

The Pasco Retired K-9 Foundation has partnered with Cryo-Eeze, a New Port Richey cryotherapy business, to fully fund specialized treatments for retired working dogs. According to foundation director Thomas DeLuca, retired police dogs often develop arthritis, joint swelling, and neurological issues after years of physically demanding duty — conditions that can significantly affect their mobility and comfort in retirement.

A Real Difference

The treatments have already made a visible impact. Jagger, a 10-year-old retired K9, is now active again without hip pain, according to his handler — a meaningful outcome for a dog who spent years working alongside law enforcement.
