TAMPA, FL — One of the best free festivals in the entire Tampa Bay area is happening this weekend, and it's just a short drive down I-75.
Riverfest 2026 takes over the entire Tampa Riverwalk on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2, for two days of free, family-friendly events spread across multiple parks in downtown Tampa. Now in its 10th year, the festival is bigger than ever.
What's Happening

• Saturday: Taco Fest — an entire afternoon and evening dedicated to tacos
• Live concert series on the main stage at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park — both nights
• Balloon glow at sunset on Friday and Saturday
• Wiener dog derby, lantern parade, water ski show, yoga, and a paddle invasion on the river
Getting There
The TECO Line Streetcar is free and runs every 15 minutes. Uber, Lyft, and the Pirate Water Taxi are all good options. Free bike valet is available at Curtis Hixon Park. If you're driving, plan ahead — downtown Tampa fills up fast on festival weekends.
