Wesley Chapel Is Getting a New Fire Station on SR-54 — and It's Almost Ready to Open

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — Help is about to get a lot closer. Pasco County Fire Rescue Station No. 2 — a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility on State Road 54 — is in its final construction phase and on track to open by winter 2026.

The 13,840-square-foot, three-bay station is located at 32134 S.R. 54, less than a mile east of the AdventHealth Meadow Pointe Emergency Room. Groundbreaking was held on May 13, 2025, and the building structure is now fully complete. Crews are currently finishing electrical systems, parking lot paving, curb installation, and landscaping — the final steps before the station goes operational.

Why Wesley Chapel Needs This

The new station is strategically positioned to serve some of the fastest-growing parts of the community: Avalon Park, New River, and Meadow Pointe Areas III and IV. As more homes are built and traffic increases, response times in these neighborhoods have become a growing concern — and Station No. 2 is designed specifically to close that gap.

'This is something monumental, something that's been a long time coming for the people in this area,' said Pasco Fire Chief Ryan Guynn at the groundbreaking. The three-bay design also allows for future expansion of units and staffing as the community continues to grow.

Part of a Larger Buildout

Station No. 2 is part of a wave of new Pasco County Fire Rescue construction. Two other stations are also nearing completion — Station 19 on Cross Bayou Blvd. in New Port Richey, and a new Station No. 1 near the county jail in Land O' Lakes, with groundbreaking expected within the next two months. In total, Pasco County is adding six new fire stations in less than two years.
