WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — The Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital opened its doors on April 21, marking a major milestone for one of Florida's fastest-growing communities. For residents who've watched the massive building rise off SR-56 over the past two years, the wait is finally over.

What the Hospital Offers
The $300 million facility sits on 47 acres at the corner of State Road 56 and Wiregrass Ranch Blvd. Here's what it opens with:
• 102 beds (expandable to 300 at full build-out, which would make it Wesley Chapel's largest hospital)
• 9 operating rooms, including a hybrid OR with real-time imaging capabilities
• Robotic surgical suites and advanced endoscopy
• Access to 350+ Florida Medical Clinic specialists across 54 locations from day one
The Bigger Picture
This is now Wesley Chapel's third hospital, joining AdventHealth and BayCare — all within four miles of each other. A fourth, the Johns Hopkins All Children's pediatric hospital, broke ground in March 2025 and is expected to open in 2027. Across the street from the new hospital, a 46,000-square-foot Wiregrass Ranch Medical Pavilion is already under construction, with outpatient tenants expected by late 2026.
What It Means for Residents
More hospital options mean shorter wait times, more specialist access, and real competition that drives quality up. It also means hundreds of new healthcare jobs — Orlando Health held a hiring event at the nearby PHSC Porter Campus that drew hundreds of applicants before the doors even opened.
